Nutritional therapy treats each person as an individual, addressing the root causes of ill health and disease, treating the person not the symptoms.  A wide range of health issues respond well to Nutritional Therapy such as stress, low energy levels and digestive issues through to arthritis, osteoporosis and blood sugar imbalance.

Shirley, a qualified Nutritional Therapist and full member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy, comments: “It is important to take a holistic approach with each client as health issues can be triggered by many factors. I look to identify areas that could be contributing to health issues and work with the client to ensure recommendations can be incorporated into their lifestyle in a realistic and practical way.”

As well as individual consultations, Shirley offers corporate services with a focus on reducing sickness levels and increasing productivity in staff.  She also delivers talks to local groups and companies on health improvement through diet and lifestyle modifications.

Nutritional therapy follows the simple belief that if the body receives, and is able to absorb and use, the wide range of nutrients, vitamins and minerals needed for it to function effectively, good health is achieved and maintained.

Unfortunately there are many factors in modern day life that prevent this happening, such as stress, poor diet, dehydration and sedentary lifestyles.

How Can Nutritional Therapy Help You?

By identifying the causes of health issues, through completion of an in-depth questionnaire covering family history, current diet and lifestyle, Shirley works closely with you to produce realistic recommendations for the issues you wish to address.

Her focus is on recommending small changes to diet and lifestyle that you feel happy to incorporate.
Supplements are only recommended where necessary.

The initial consultation lasts up to 1 ¼ hours and finishes with a written report of recommendations sent to you within seven days of the appointment. A follow-up consultation is recommended within six weeks in order to review and revise, where necessary, elements of your programme and to provide motivational support as you progress over time.

Some kind words below from some of Shirley’s clients:

“Thank you for your sensitivity and professionalism at both our initial and follow-up consultations.  I found your suggestions of great assistance.  I now have more energy, I have re-commenced exercise and my diabetes is under control.  I have lost weight, which along with your other recommendations has assisted in the control of my arthritis.  Thank you once again for your commitment to health; keep up the good work.”
Clare, Brighton

“I consulted Shirley for advice on how to deal with my increasingly severe candida symptoms.  She took the time to fully understand the potential causes and therefore to better advise on what changes to make to my diet.  My symptoms have significantly reduced in only 2 months.”
Fiona, London
